Why Owens Corning Duration Onyx Black for a Silver Springs Shores reroof?
Owens Corning Duration in Onyx Black was the system chosen for this full Silver Springs Shores replacement after the homeowners compared shingle and metal.
They wanted ASAP timing depending on price and stayed with architectural shingles. Onyx Black is a dark multi-tone Duration color that fits a residential Ocala lot. About 19 squares covered this home, with 3 starter bundles and 2 ProEdge hip and ridge bundles finishing the peaks.
Sales consultant Alex Lawrence kept the scope on a retail replacement. Comparing both systems on the same tear-off scope helped them lock Duration Onyx Black without guessing at metal extras later.
Does a full Ocala reroof include new drip edge?
Yes. On every full roof replacement we install new drip edge with the new roof system.
This Silver Springs Shores job used new black drip edge throughout with the Onyx Black Duration field. Edge metal lines the eaves and rakes and protects the deck edge where water leaves the roof. We never reuse old drip edge on a full reroof.

FAQs
Is Onyx Black a good color choice for Silver Springs Shores homes?
Onyx Black is a dark multi-tone Duration color that works well on many Ocala elevations. Color preference is personal, so walk sample boards on your elevation with your sales consultant before you lock the order.
Should I compare shingle and metal before I sign a Silver Springs Shores quote?
Yes when both options matter to you. This homeowner compared shingle and metal, wanted ASAP timing depending on price, then stayed with Duration Onyx Black. Ask for the same tear-off scope, drip edge plan, and start window on both quotes so the numbers stay apples to apples.
What should I ask about starter and ProEdge on a Duration quote?
Ask whether the quote includes starter and manufacturer hip and ridge as separate line items. This Silver Springs Shores job used 3 starter bundles and 2 ProEdge bundles with the Onyx Black field. Those pieces are part of a complete system, not optional add-ons you should have to chase later.
